Man Arrested in Deaths of 3 Young Maryland Girls

Maryland police have arrested a man who they believe is behind the brutal murders of three girls, ranging in ages from five to 10.

Police on Saturday morning identified the girls as Ariana Elizabeth DeCree, 9; Nadira Janae' Withers, 6; and Ajayah Royale DeCree, 6.

Ariana and Ajayah from Newark were the daughters of the suspect's mother's cousin and were on holiday in Maryland, according to RLS Metro Breaking News.

A relative returned home from work at 7:30 a.m., finding the girls with stab wounds.

Antonio Williams, 24, of Clinton, has been arrested on three counts of first-degree murder and other related charges in the slaying of the girls.

"We are now in the midst of a major investigation into what happened to these children and who killed them", police department spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan said earlier Friday.

While details of the children's injuries were not revealed Donelan said they suffered "trauma to the body". A fourth child, a 2-year-old, was inside, alive and unharmed, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the case.

Officers said they do not yet have a motive for the killing.

"This is one of the most hard scenes that our officers arrived on". Police spokesperson Jennifer Donelan called it "one of the most hard scenes" Prince George's County officers have investigated.

State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks told NBC that Prince George's County had awoken to "yet another nightmare".

Relatives of the victims are being contacted and counseling has even been offered to officers who responded and found the bodies.
