Huawei Unveils the HUAWEI Mate 10 and HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro

Yesterday we saw the new Huawei Mate 10 Pro and now the company has announced the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. The Mate 10 comes with a 5.9-inch 2560 x 1440 LCD while the Mate 10 Pro's display is a 6-inch 2160 x 1080 OLED. In stock mode support HDR and marketing 112% coverage of the NTSC colour space. Both phones are powered by Huawei's own home-brewed HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, featuring four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.36GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, and an i7 co-processor, along with the Mali-G72 Mp12 GPU and Huawei's own Neural Processing Unit (NPU). What this means is that you will find the same physical home button as you saw on devices previous year with a fingerprint reader embedded in it.

The Mate 10 comes with 4GB RAM / 64GB ROM and is priced at €699, the Mate 10 Pro comes with 6GB RAM/ 128GB ROM and is priced at €799 and finally the luxurious Porsche Design comes with 6GB RAM / 256GB ROM and is priced at €1,399. The main dual-camera setups use 12-megapixel RGB and 20-megapixel monochrome sensors, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), paired with dual lenses with a large aperture of f/1.6. The Huawei Mate 10 will sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, but the Mate 10 Pro will give it a miss.

The Mate 10 is the least power packed among the lot, which is closely followed by the Mate 10 Pro and then the premium Mate 10 Porsche Design. But both have a 4,000 mAh battery with SuperCharge technology and are running Huawei's latest EMUI 8.0, which is based off Android 8.0 Oreo. The displays on both these smartphones feature HDR10 support.

The Mate 10 Pro is also available in another variant with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.

Will the latest Huawei twins be better than Apple's or Google's smartphones? USA pricing remains to be announced.

The Mate 10 will be available for purchase from late October and will cost a whopping €699, or $821 United States dollars.

USP of the Huawei Mate 10 Lite is it's display and the camera. Its top-tier feature, which should place it at par with Apple and Samsung's flagships, is the Kirin 970.

As you may know, another difference is the price. Huawei Mate 10 ad Mate 10 Pro get curved edges for an ergonomic hold, and a reflective band design at the back. Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
