Texans QB Deshaun Watson out for season due to torn ACL

Earlier today, Watson was added to the Texans' injury report with a knee injury, and was listed as a limited participant in practice. He suffered the injury on a non-contact play. With this knee injury to Watson, Tom Savage will now presumably step back into the starting role.

He has passed for 1,699 yards with an NFL-high 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season while also rushing for 269 yards and two more scores.

One of the NFL's most electrifying rookies may be out for the rest of the year. Savage started the season at quarterback and to put it nicely the offense was awful.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (4) is sacked by Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett in the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, in Seattle.

The rookie QB played with a torn ACL his freshman year at Clemson, but this injury appears to be beyond that.

See how Twitter reacted to Watson's torn ACL. Watson also suffered a sprained knee against Georgia Tech before the game against SC was told that with a brace securing the knee, Watson could continue to play without risking additional damage.
