Apple announces iOS 11.3 previews for iPhone, iPad users

Apple has released a preview to what is their next major iOS update, the iOS 11.3.

In a January 24 announcement Apple said, "The updated Health Records section within the Health app brings together hospitals, clinics and the existing Health app to make it easy for consumers to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose". The new Health Records tool in the Health App will let users view notifications for lab results, check records on medications and conditions, and more. Users with an iPad or iPhone released in the past 3 years will be able to make with all the download'n right this minute. You can also turn off the feature that slashes the performance to protect battery and the device itself, if you so wish.

Health Records data is encrypted and protected with the user's passcode, Apple said. This feature uses the Face ID motion sensing camera to let users animate emoji with their own movements.

The iOS 11.3 beta is now available to members of Apple's Developer Program.

As we mentioned, the iOS 11.3 update also brings four new Animoji presets to the Messages app, giving users more ways to "express" themselves. You'll come prepared allowing you to benefit more from your appointment. Apple has reduced the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement from £79 to £25.

The tvOS 11.3 public beta can be obtained by going to the Settings app on Apple TV, navigating to "System", then to "Software Updates", followed by toggling on "Get Public Beta Updates". Apple says that "in addition to horizontal surfaces like tables and chairs, ARKit can now recognise and place virtual objects on vertical surfaces like walls and doors, and can more accurately map irregularly shaped surfaces like circular tables". Failing that it may not appear until September at the next iPhone launch - which could be a worthwhile wait for those hoping the top notch gets ditched. The goal is to make it easier for consumers to access their available medical data from their phone and through multiple providers and reduce the fragmented storage of this data.

Another feature added to Apple Music is support for music videos.

iOS 11.3 will support Advanced Mobile Location to automatically send your location to emergency services when they're called. "Apple is uniquely positioned to help scale adoption because they have both a secure and trusted platform and have adopted the latest industry open standards at a time when the industry is well positioned to respond", Cedars-Sinai CIO Darren Dworkin said in prepared remarks.

Apple has previewed the features and more about the future update of iOS.
