Hazard To Sign New Contract After Courtois Does

The Chelsea manager said: "If you ask me about these two players, I will be very happy when they can have this deal but this is the responsibility of the club to try to do this".

"That's not what I think. Then I will sign".

However, appearing at the NBA London match on Thursday night at the O2 Arena to watch the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 114-103, Hazard confirmed that he will sign a new deal with Chelsea and will follow teammate Courtois, who is out of contract next year.

Hazard is being heavily courted by Real Madrid, and is believed to be holding out for a deal.

Chelsea are now third on the points table behind the two Manchester Clubs.

This season, Hazard has scored six goals in 14 Premier League appearances - not a bad tally for an attacking midfielder but Blues boss Antonio Conte will be hoping that the Belgian will once again find his top form as his side chase Manchester City at the top of the English Premier League.

Chelsea return to action at the weekend in the Premier League when they take on Leicester.

Despite Hazard having two years remaining on his current contract, the west London club do not want to face a similar situation to Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal if Hazard's deal was to be run down.

Hazard is said to have declined the last two contract offers presented to him at Chelsea, revealing that the Belgian might have made up his mind on a move.

On the other hand, Thibaut Courtois has only a year left on his Chelsea contract and is expected to renew it soon.

Hazard has always been touted as a potential target for Real Madrid as the Spanish club continue to consider bolstering their squad.
