Grand military parade in Capital marking 78th Pakistan Day

Earlier, on 21st March, the "Pakistan Day" reception was hosted by the Embassy at the local hotel which was attended by a large number of Ambassadors and their representatives, officials of the UAE Government, media and members of Pakistan community.
Pakistanis celebrated on Friday their National Day with a military parade in the capital, Islamabad, showcasing short- and long-range missiles, tanks, jets, drones and other hardware.
On the occasion, Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain accused India of ceasefire violations and human rights abuses, saying New Delhi's actions have put regional peace at stake.
Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain used the occasion to promise to defeat militants who have killed thousands of people in attacks over the past decade.
The historic resolution, known as the Pakistan Resolution, was approved on March 23, 1940.
The Acting High Commissioner also extended honest greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Government and people of Sri Lanka for the continued progress, peace, national unity, reconciliation and harmony in the years ahead.
He said that cooperation for worldwide peace is the base of the country's foreign policy, and that Pakistan extends a hand of cooperation to regional countries but it would be mistake if the gesture was taken as as sign of weakness.
The President said the global scenario has changed manifold and now countries could not be coerced to toe line of one particular country.
Ambassador highlighted the importance of Pakistan-China friendship and said that both countries share the dream of development, peace and security in the region. The Pakistani nation has faced these challenges with unity and resilience.
"I discussed this issue (alleged harassment of Pakistani diplomats in India) with our government". "Pakistan is ready to cooperate and join hands for lasting peace".
He lauded not only Pakistan's positive role in multilateral organizations like UNO and OIC but also the enormous sacrifices Pakistan has made in the fight against terrorism.
The parade was held in the presence of Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi and Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan.
