National Basketball Association agent Dan Fegan killed in auto accident

Colorado authorities say longtime National Basketball Association agent Dan Fegan died in a auto crash Sunday.

The 56-year-old was driving an SUV when he was hit by a bus on a highway near Aspen, according to the report. Fegan's 5-year-old son and a 29-year-old woman were also injured in the crash and were flown to a Denver hospital. "We ask for privacy at this hard time", the statement added.

The agency fired him with cause, alleging he had operated a side agency and was trying to poach clients from Independent Sports & Entertainment. He went on to represent clients such as Dwight Howard, Kris Humphries, Chandler Parsons, Ricky Rubio, John Wall, Yi Jianlian and Demarcus Cousins.

Colorado authorities say one person has died in a crash involving a commuter bus and a rented SUV.

"The NBA family mourns the loss of longtime agent Dan Fegan", the league said in a statement.

Fegan's first client as a sports agent was his Yale Law School (he graduated from the school) fellow student and friend Chris Dudley. I am forever grateful for what you did for me and will never forget that.

In 2016, he was named by Forbes magazine as one of the very best agents in the entire country. This isn't fair but i know you are in a better place and we will have a glass of red again someday.

The NBA world was hit with a tragic incident on Sunday.

Mavericks' Mark Cuban said: "Dan was the first agent who realized I was serious about basketball, winning and learning as much as I could about the game".

Erica Robbie of The Aspen Times reported the news.
