Nor'easter cancels hundreds of flights at NYC airports

Thursday isn't shaping up to be a lot better.

According to airport spokesperson Alisa Sisic, however, approximately 30 percent of the morning departure flights are canceled due to the snowstorm.

A second winter storm in less than a week hit the northeastern United States on Wednesday, prompting the cancellation of more than two thousand flights, AFP reported. More than 50 million people from Philadelphia to Boston are under winter storm warnings and watches.

The Port Authority of NY and New Jersey is still advising travelers to check the status of their flights before heading to their airports while cancellations and delays trickle down throughout the day.

Newark Airport has seen more than 550 canceled flights for Wednesday.

Departing flights have also been affected by the storm.

Passengers heading to cities impacted by the storm are urged to contact their airlines before going to the airport.
