This report comes on the heels of the rumors saying that Samsung will commercialize its in-display fingerprint reader this year.
It's been a busy week at Samsung, as they have launched a successor to yet another budget smartphone. It's interesting to note that this phone now stands "sold out" on the website and there is a "notify me" option for when it becomes "available".
As for hardware specifications, traditionally the Samsung Galaxy series has been split into two main SoC configurations and as expected the Galaxy S9 flagships are no different, with the EMEIA region receiving the variants powered by Samsung's own Exynos 9810 chipset.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 price in India is Rs. 13,990. Both models have an elongated aspect ratio of 18:5:9 with a display resolution of 2960 by 1440 pixels, and run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, although the software is covered by a new version of the OEM's own firmware: Samsung Experience 9.0. The impressive quality about the camera is the fact that it comes with a variable aperture which lets it shoot between f/2.4 and f/1.5, thus allowing the phone to click very nice low-light shots.
The smartphone packs an inbuilt storage of 32GB that can be expanded via microSD card up to 256GB. So in the new upgraded variant, there is an upgrade of the front camera. In the connectivity options, the smartphone includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, headphones, single SIM (Nano), 3G and 4G.
The Samsung Galaxy J lineup is getting expanded further as the South Korean smartphone giant has no other name to keep for the follow-up models.
"The Galaxy S9+ and the Sony Xperia XZ2 are the first smartphones to use Snapdragon 845", said Wayne Lam, principal analyst for smartphone electronics at IHS Markit.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime measures 151.7 x 75.0 x 8.0 mm and weighs 170 grams.
Businesses can also consider an enterprise version of the new phone, which comes with Knox technology for simpler device provisioning and added security.
