Bellator 198 Results - Fedor Emelianenko Punishes Mir, Moves on in Grand Prix

Fedor Emelianenko picked up a first-round knockout victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the headliner of last night's Bellator 198 event. Emelianenko continued to swarm and land punches forcing referee Mike Beltran to step in and wave off the fight after just 48 seconds.

Fedor now holds a 6-1 record over his last seven fights, although that stretches back to 2011, including several fights in which the Russian has looked a severely diminished version of his previous self.

The ground fight didn't last long, and the two continued headhunting one another.

The famous Russian singer Oleg Gazmanov congratulated mixed martial arts fighter Fedor Emelianenko and even gave him his own poems.

Of course, Danis' training partner, the former featherweight and lightweight champion of the UFC, Conor McGregor, also paid his respects following the first-round sub. Both Lovato and Gracie improve to 8-0.


The 41-year-old Emelianenko advanced to face Chael Sonnen in the second round of the Grand Prix.
