Real-world currency can only be used to purchase Crystals, which are only redeemable for Appearances. Credits are earned through in-game activity and can be redeemed toward Appearances, as well.
Though Star Wars Battlefront II has seen its fair share of controversy - due to borked multiplayer progression systems, heinous micro transactions, lousy loot-boxes, and a general lack of polish - EA has gutted most of the aforementioned problems from its game in a bid to save face.
"The ambush begins as the Ewok attacks the unsuspecting stormtroopers, using spears, Wisties, and whatever abilities they can muster to take down the intruders", says EA. This new update introduces a limited time mode. The limited-time mode that we mentioned before is Ewok Hunt, and it involves clearing out a platoon of Stormtroopers or holding out against an extremely punishing Ewok assault. In addition, DICE announced that Season Two of Battlefront II content will arrive in May.
For newcomers who may not be aware of the goings on with Battlefront 2, crystals originally debuted along with the game, however, the backlash that EA received on their "pay-to-win" method led to them pulling crystals from the game completely. Some troopers are also getting a visual upgrade as 40 new appearances are available in this upcoming update. The first is in the same style as the Night on Endor Update that we're releasing on April 18th, and the second is Seasons. "And we've heard that this is overshadowing an otherwise great game".
We've heard a lot about the Iden the last couple of weeks and the consensus amongst the Community has been that she was a little overpowered. Night on Endor will also feature a balancing update and bug fixes. "We had the intent that was designed for us to have more people play it over a longer period of time", Söderlund explained.
"We hear you loud and clear, so we're turning off all in-game purchases", Gabrielson said.
Battlefront II continues to grow as the ewoks join the fight. More info about its specific contents will become available closer to launch.
