Pruitt is the target of a series of federal ethics investigations.

"EPA is doing really, really well", Trump told Pruitt on Wednesday.

In a tweet from Fox News Research, the network's information and analysis team, the outlet laid out a list of the scandals and Pruitt has faced thus far and the prices associated with them. Also resigning is Pruitt's senior counsel Sarah Greenwalt, who traveled internationally and across the US with Pruitt as he met with industry officials and foreign diplomats.

Six House Democrats led by Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) sent a letter on Friday to the FBI and Department of Justice requesting a criminal investigation into Pruitt.

During a hurricane-preparedness briefing Wednesday, Pruitt laughed off the fried chicken dilemma, telling reporters, "We love Chick-fil-A".

Pruitt also faced backlash after a letter to GOP Representative Trey Goudy of SC, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, showed the EPA administrator told an aide to buy an old mattress from Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.

A spokesperson for the EPA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Pruitt, in appearances before congressional hearings this spring, has denied responsibility for any ethical lapses, saying subordinates made those decisions.

"EPA is doing really, really well", Trump told Pruitt.

As EPA chief, Pruitt has received round-the-clock protection since he took office in February 2017.

Pruitt spoke at the Faith and Freedom Conference today, touting the accomplishments of the Trump administration in the past year and a half, when a protester interrupted and held up a bottle of lotion. Connolly is a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and serves as the ranking Democrat on the Subcommittee on Government Operations.

"I think with great change comes, I think you know, opposition". In reality, Pruitt was trying to get his wife a Chick-fil-A franchise. Federal employees are subject to specific rules created to prevent officials from using their office for personal gain or taking advantage of subordinates.

"The hits just keep on coming, and I think he's hurting the president and therefore he's hurting the country", Kennedy added.

In her testimony provided the House Oversight Committee, Hupp said she spent several hours a week at work discussing housing accommodations for Pruitt with realtors and visited at least 10 properties on behalf of Pruitt, who asked her verbally to assist him in finding housing options, according to the testimony.
