Ramsey returned to Arsenal's starting line-up in place of Mesut Ozil, with Goal revealing prior to the game that the German was suffering with illness and Emery moving to rubbish reports of a training ground row after a London derby date had finished.
"There is no problem with the player, this information [about a bust up] is not true", Emery said.
Another former Arsenal player made an immediate impact as goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski kept out Henrikh Mkhitaryan's strike with a tremendous stop. "And he feels better and he is here".
Substitute Danny Welbeck took advantage of the offensive West Ham as he grabbed a goal in stoppage time to make the match safe. "But he did not leave training [due to that], but because he was going to his home because he was sick". We said: 'Oh, he's got a lot of quality, he can bring a lot of good things to the club'. "Ask the doctor. He can explain better".
"We are very unlucky to concede that own goal that put Arsenal on top". We need the balance, in the first half we suffered more than we want.
West Ham slumped to a third consecutive defeat under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
"More transition. For the second half we were speaking in the dressing room and to help more inside with two midfielders. But I'm very happy because we are on the correct way and soon this team are going to win more games than we lose", Pellegrini said. Getting three points on the board after losing to Manchester City and Chelsea to open up the season will be a big relief for Emery.
