A man takes a photo of a Google Pixel 2 phone during a launch event in San Francisco, California, U.S. October 4, 2017. One lens has dual f/1.8 and f/2.2 apertures, while the other has an f/1.8 aperture. This confirms previous rumors that both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL would include dual front-facing cameras likely to add support for wide-angle selfies. Those apart, Pixel 3 is also shown supporting some form of gesture control feature. The front otherwise looks clean and uncluttered sans the default Google search bar though the manner seven apps have been packed along the bottom does look intriguing, to say the least.
At this point, there's absolutely nothing that we don't already know about the upcoming Google Pixel 3 XL. Similar to the Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 XL also will be running Google's newly announced Android 9 Pie out of the box. The Reddit user did not reveal whether it would feature wireless charging.
Google Pixel hardware team recently visited India to understand the market and is exploring the possibility for such devices in the Indian market. These photos suggest that the alleged Pixel 3 will come with a 5.5-inch display, but without the notch that is expected in the Pixel 3 XL.
The Pixel 3 looks good and might be favorite of the two since it doesn't have a notch. The budget Pixel 3 is rumored to ship with a mid-range Snapdragon 710 chip.
Since the iPhone X launch, smartphone vendors have been increasing the prices of their premium devices, and Google could follow the same trend. More interestingly, a cheaper Pixel may be in the works, putting the number of new Pixel phones at 3 this year. Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 has been priced at $1,000 for the base model and $1250 for the 8GB RAM/512GB storage variant. This may just be what the people want though, what with all the criticism the Pixel 3 XL's deep notch has received.
Google Pixel 3 tipped to launch on 9 October.
