Amazon announces 4K version of its Fire TV Stick

Check out all the great bundles that includes devices like the 3rd-generation Echo Dot, the Fire TV Recast and more. "Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K gives you access to the vast catalog of content now available on Fire TV including thousands of 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ titles", says Amazon.

The potential benefits of a 4K HDR streaming stick more or less speak for themselves.

The Fire TV Stick 4K comes with a new Alexa Voice Remote. There's 8GB of storage built into the device. The Toshiba Fire TV Edition, released back in June, included a customized version of the Alexa remote control which had not only volume buttons but shortcuts for popular streaming services like Netflix, HBO, and Amazon's own Prime Video. And with Alexa integration, it is easier for viewers to find 4K content for streaming using their voice.

The new Fire TV Stick 4K will begin shipping on October 31 in North America, before hitting the United Kingdom on November 14. Not wanting to be left out, today, Amazon unveils the Fire TV Stick 4K and it looks like an insane value. It will start shipping later this month and is up for pre-order now for $50. All Fire TV devices have come with the original wand-shaped, microphone-equipped Alexa Voice remote for a while, and this represents the first significant update to the device. Support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision will allow for greater picture quality, though you likely won't notice a big difference.

Marc Whitten, Vice President, Amazon Fire TV shares the following statement. Amazon also has a checklist to make sure that the remote's buttons are compatible with your TV, cable/satellite box, sound bar, or A/V receiver, though it expects most popular brands to be supported. Amazon will sell it separately for $29.99, and also begin shipping to consumers on October 31.
