Canada says it is prepared to freeze Saudi arms deal if necessary

The Turkish President stated that a team of three Saudis arrived in Istanbul on a chartered flight and settled into a hotel on October 1, a day before Khashoggi went missing from the Saudi consulate in Turkey.
The strongly worded remarks come after days of mixed messages by President Donald Trump, who has vowed punishment but also ruled out major actions such as stopping arms sales to Saudi Arabia, a longstanding USA ally.
Among its many investments domestically and overseas, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, which the crown prince oversees, has invested $20 billion in a US -focused infrastructure fund with Blackstone.
"We are going through a crisis", Falih said in his speech. "Second, there is an urgent need to clarify what happened - we are far from this having been cleared up and those responsible held to account".
"Obviously, there's been deception and there's been lies", Trump told the Post.
Five employees from the Saudi consulate were testifying to prosecutors on Monday, Anadolu said, with 22 foreign and Turkish workers expected to give statements in total.
Jamal Khashoggi was last seen walking into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey on October 2 to obtain papers which would allow him to get married to his fiancee, Hatice Cengiz.
"The information and evidence we have gathered until now shows that Khashoggi was the victim of a murder which was savagely planned", Erdogan said.
Mr Hunt acknowledged that the United Kingdom had close security and business links with Saudi Arabia but "if the appalling stories we are reading turn out to be true" the United Kingdom "will act accordingly".
The security official heading a team of 15 Saudis allegedly sent to Istanbul, called the head of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's office, Bader al-Asaker, "four times after the murder", the adviser added.
The development came as Khashoggi's grieving son Salah faced down Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Yamama Palace in Riyadh. The Saudi government says that Khashoggi died after a fistfight.
