NBC Officially Cancels Megyn Kelly Show, Will Replace With ‘Today’ Co-anchors

The newswoman came under fire while discussing "inappropriate and offensive costumes" on her show.

A number of reports have said Kelly will definitely leave NBC entirely but wants the remainder of her three-year contract, which owes her approximately $50 million.

Until she left the network, Hall, along with Roker, co-hosted Today's Take.

News chairman Andy Lack told employees during a town hall on Wednesday that he condemned Kelly's comments.

A report Friday on the "Today" show cited a source familiar with the situation as saying NBC News and Kelly are in talks about the anchor leaving the network.

In 2015 she accused Michelle Obama of playing into a "culture of victimization" - a common statement made by white supremacists and black conservatives - she spoke about racial inequality during a commencement speech at Tuskegee University.

In Theron's new movie, which does not have an official release date yet, the Oscar victor co-stars with John Lithgow, who's playing Kelly's former Fox News boss Roger Ailes, and Nicole Kidman playing Fox News commentator Gretchen Carlson. "Back when I was a kid, that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character". Her live show was replaced Thursday and Friday with a pre-taped episode. So it appears she will not be returning to the show to say goodbye to viewers.

"I realize now that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry", Kelly wrote in the email to her colleagues. Regarding NBC's alleged reluctance to share the Weinstein article, Kelly suggested that an outside agency conduct an investigation into the matter. "Thank you for listening, and for helping me listen, too".

According to Us Weekly, NBC has wanted to end Megyn Kelly Today for some time. "There's the question of the faith and confidence of the public in the reporting of NBC on matters involving itself", she stated at the time.
