Verizon, Samsung to launch 5G smartphone in first half of 2019

With some three months to go until Samsung announces the Galaxy S10 series, we have more leaks that suggest the phone's design has been finalized for some time. The promo image confirms that the device will be officially announced in China on December 17, one week after Samsung launches the Galaxy A8s. The company took to Weibo to announce the launch of its upcoming Huawei Nova 4 smartphone.

On the leaked image, the upcoming Huawei Nova 4 appear in a Blue gradient color with a full view display screen and camera hole in the display and no Notch at the front. The photo shows the front panel of the handset and it seemingly confirms the inclusion of an Infinity O display that has a cutout for the front-facing camera.

Huawei has fixed the date December 17th for the launch of Nova 4. According to a recent Yonhap News Agency article, Samsung reportedly plans to release its flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone in February, followed by the foldable Galaxy F and another edition of the Galaxy S10 that runs on the 5G network in March.

Initially, it was Samsung who introduced its new display concepts featuring nothes, which was followed by reports of punch holes in smartphone screens.

Moreover, Huawei's Nova 4 teaser picture showed the phone with a galaxy background. The selfie camera now sits in a cutout in the top-left corner of the display but it still remains to be seen how it'd affect the overall user experience.

The phone will also be expected to use Snapdragon 710 considering it's a midrange smartphone, and come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Speculation is rife that the rear of the Galaxy A8s will be home to a triple camera setup very similar to the Galaxy A7 (2018). 24 and 2-megapixel cameras may be included on the front side of the device, while pretty much everyone is expecting to see Android 9 Pie pre-installed on this smartphone.

Display-wise, a 6.44-inch, 1440 x 2960 pixel Super AMOLED looks to be in the mix, with a 511 PPI density. The phone will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Release younger the flagship device is expected February 25-28, at the exhibition MWC in Barcelona 2019.
