Currently, the Timberwolves seem to be taking it one game at a time and are still aiming to make it to the playoffs as they are halfway through the season with a decent score.
"I said let's let it go and see how things worked", Taylor said.
Saunders is now the youngest active coach in the league at 32-years-old and will have a challenging task in bringing the Wolves back to prominence with the second half of the season ahead.
In fact, Towns said he told assistant coaches just last week that he felt the organization was gaining some much-needed "stability" and that he was finally feeling comfortable within his team's schemes.
Assistant coach Ryan Saunders will reportedly serve as Minnesota's interim head coach and Scott Layden will work as the team's general manager.
The son of the late Flip Saunders - who was both the Timberwolves coach and president of basketball operations - Ryan is now tasked with trying to direct Minnesota to the postseason.
"We had just celebrated a good win, so we all went home thinking the day was over", Towns said.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have made a decision to fire Tom Thibodeau.
"The results are that I don't think we should've lost against Phoenix or Detroit or New Orleans or Atlanta", Taylor said.
Thibodeau was also the head coach of the Bulls from 2011-15, where he compiled a 255-139 record. Hoiberg was sacked by Chicago in early December. After a contentious battle with star guard Jimmy Butler who demanded a trade, the Timberwolves never recovered from their lack of team chemistry. Thibodeau and Minnesota's front office eventually sent him to the 76ers in mid-November in exchange for a package centered around Robert Covington and Dario Saric.
