Chelsea collapse to 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth, Football News & Top Stories

Chelsea´s Italian head coach Maurizio Sarri (R) reacts during the English Premier League football match between Bournemouth and Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth, southern England on January 30, 2019.

Maurizio Sarri loves to have extensive midfield options, which we have seen this season at Chelsea and in the past few seasons with Napoli as well. It's not easy for him because he became Hazard playing in another way, so I think very well it's not easy. "I don't want to change something that doesn't work well at the moment", he told reporters when asked if he would consider changing his tactics.

"But I can see that, now, he is more available to play in this way".

Sarri was left furious after Chelsea were hammered 4-0 by Bournemouth on Wednesday night and the Blues boss is now hoping to strengthen his squad before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.

After their most recent defeat, a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Bournemouth, a lot has been written about Sarri's future at the club. In one, the coach arrived five years ago, in one four years ago, and in the other three years ago.

'I want to remember that, in the first season, Tottenham and Liverpool were in the middle of the table.

"They had a plan and were really passionate". If I am a dreamer, I'm a dreamer.

Man of the match Brooks did a similar marking job on Jorginho to the one executed successfully by Richarlison, Dele Alli and Aaron Ramsey earlier in the season, while Howe afterwards revealed he had instructed his players not to worry if Chelsea had the ball.

Chelsea host bottom team Huddersfield in the Premier League on Saturday and have an EFL Cup final against Manchester City on 24 February. If it is the last pass, then he has not adapted.

"So we need to improve".

"Maybe I am not able to motivate these players", said Sarri.

Sarri went on to explain to his club's official website why he sent the staff out the dressing room, as he spent 45 minutes with his players after the defeat. I want first of all to change the mentality.

Sarri has attracted criticism for deploying Eden Hazard as a striker and N'Golo Kante - so effective as a defensive midfielder - in a more attacking role.
