Hours after the pre-dawn offensive on Pakistan-based terror camps, the Government said on Tuesday said that "India has struck the biggest training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot eliminating a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commander and jihadis in the operation".
Pakistan's military spokesman says that Indian military aircraft crossed into its territory in the disputed Kashmir region and that Indian jets "released a payload" hastily in a forest area. The attack is believed to be the worst against India's military since a rise in insurgency in 1989. The minister also told the leaders that she is in touch with the foreign ministers of various countries on the issue and she will be travelling to China soon where she will meet the Chinese and Russian Foreign ministers and discuss the operation.
Four people, including two children, have been killed and seven others wounded in an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops in Pakistan-administered Kashmir's district of Kotli, officials said.
The Indian military would not report on the results of its sortie into Pakistan. Yusuf Azhar was on the Interpol list and among the most wanted in India.

The purported attack was India's first use of air strikes against Pakistan since 1971, when the two went to war over Bangladesh's independence.
