Linda McMahon to step down from Small Business Administration

Former WWE President and CEO Linda McMahon will be resigning as head President Donald Trump's Small Business Administation according to a report from Politico.

Trump, without announcing McMahon's departure plans, said he would appear with her at his Mar-a-Lago retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, at 4 p.m. EDT Friday.

Linda and her husband Vince McMahon have been friendly with the Trump family dating back to the 1980s when they ran WrestleMania IV and V from Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. She regularly travels around the country to promote the president's agenda, including recent trips to promote the new U.S. -Mexico-Canada trade deal.

McMahon previously served as the CEO at WWE before leaving the wrestling giant in 2009 to run for the U.S. Senate in CT. She was defeated in 2010 by Sen.

She stepped down from her position in WWE in 2009 to run for office. It has been an honor to serve the country in your Cabinet and serve in the administration and the people of the United States and small businesses, ' she said.

She has enjoyed consistent praise from President Trump, who seemed to connect with her based on their shared background as relative political outsiders who spent decades building businesses.

McMahon joined Trump's team during his presidential transition, with officials announcing in December 2016 that she had been chosen to lead the Small Business Administration, which provides loans and other assistance to small businesses.
