Democratic leaders are walking a delicate line on what to do with Mueller's findings.
If the report is accurate, it is unclear why the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other government officials have allowed the dossier's salacious claims to hang like a dark cloud over the Trump administration for more than two years.
Lee had joined Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and others on "Face the Nation" to talk about the political fallout and what steps Congress may take, including potential impeachment proceedings. This is awful. This is the end of my presidency.
Trump's White House, though, pronounced the president thoroughly vindicated. Nadler chairs the House Judiciary Committee, where impeachment proceedings originate.
Collins expressed concern with Trump's attempts to fire Mueller, as documented in the report, which she called "a very thorough undertaking".
JERRY NADLER: The special counsel made clear that he did not exonerate the president. What defense attorney wouldn't take a crack at that?
Even as the legal team professed cooperation with Mueller's prosecutors, the lawyers expressed impatience, frustration and skepticism in a series of private letters that challenged the credibility of the government's witnesses and the demands to interview the president.
Almost half of the redactions appear to be where prosecutors wanted to shield ongoing cases that spun out of Mr. Mueller's work but were apparently not central to his mandate to investigate election-meddling and whether the president obstructed the ensuing probe.
Those private complaints were dwarfed by louder public protests.
Mueller described Trump and aides as habitually lying about their actions and running roughshod over principles of law a they battled the investigation.
Also, for an issue of such grave importance - that the Russians interfered in and possibly affected the outcome of the 2016 USA presidential elections - the more than a dozen Democratic presidential candidates see it as a minor issue.
But there was a method to Giuliani's shtick, at least at times.
Both volumes of the redacted Mueller report may be found below.
But the fact that some of those notes became source material for Mueller to paint a vivid portrait of Trump's deception angered the president, who was stewing over the media coverage as he decamped to Florida for the holiday weekend, according to people familiar with his thinking.
"Yes, and the word exoneration was unnecessary in the Mueller report and I would say inappropriate", she responded.
Russian Federation has consistently denied claims that it meddled in the U.S. presidential election, with President Putin calling the allegations "utterly ridiculous" and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov saying that they have not been backed up by any substantive evidence at any stage.
Federal Bureau of Investigation agents also tracked down two of Steele's sources in January 2017 and determined that one may have embellished allegations attributed to him in the dossier, according to The Times. Despite identifying 10 troubling episodes that could be defined as acts of obstruction, Mueller could not say with confidence that Trump acted with the requisite "corrupt intent".
Giuliani was speaking three days after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller III's report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. Instead, the report cited ten possible instances of obstruction and determined that Congress retains the authority to investigate these possible crimes.
Despite Trump's angry tweets Friday morning, the president was in a good mood as he dined on the Mar-a-Lago patio after landing in Palm Beach on Thursday night.
"We're very, very happy".
"We're going to have a caucus about this over the next couple weeks to try to figure out what the best course is, not for the party, but what's the best course for the country", Schiff said on "Fox News Sunday".
Most Americans hold a low opinion of Trump.
"I think that's where the real lawyering in a situation like this goes on, is the client management piece", he said.
"Well, first of all, I think Sen".
