Tottenham’s Alli should face Manchester City, doubt for Huddersfield

Kane limped off during the second half of Tottenham's 1-0 win over City, and it's still unclear whether he can play again this season.

"It's a tough moment for him, the team and us", Pochettino told reporters at Friday's news conference.

Fourth-placed Tottenham have six league games remaining and are a point ahead of rivals Arsenal as they battle for a top four finish and a place in next season's Champions League.

The England global was substituted with an ankle injury after 58 minutes of his side's 1-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday. We feel so disappointed and it was hard to accept the situation.

Kane suffered a similar injury earlier this season against Manchester United in January which kept him out for just over a month. And we went straight up the other end with a break of our own, only for Kongolo to deflect Llorente's effort wide.

In statement Spurs also said that examinations revealed that midfielder Dele Alli fractured his left hand during the victory, but that he could yet play against relegated Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

Kane usually recovers quickly from his ankle injuries and may target the semi-final in the Nations League against the Netherlands on June 6 as a return date or the final of the Champions League on June 1 if Spurs can somehow make it there.

"Today there are a lot of techniques to try to help that and not become chronic and, of course, because we have very good people here", he said. "I'm more optimistic about him being available for Manchester City in the second leg", he said.

"Now he's much better, he had a scan on Thursday, he needs to see the specialist next week and we'll see".

Adding to Pochettino's problems, England midfielder Harry Winks was ruled out of Saturday's game with a groin injury.

Meanwhile the likes of Serge Aurier (hamstring), Eric Dier (hip flexor) and Erik Lamela (hamstring) are out of the Huddersfield fixture.
