76ers’ Ben Simmons penalized for elbowing Lowry in groin

In an attempt to get Lowry off of him, Simmons elbowed Kyle in the groin. Even though this series will shift back to Toronto for two of its final three games should it go the distance, overcoming a 3-1 deficit after three straight losses would be extremely hard for the Raptors, especially against a Philadelphia team that seems get better every time it takes the floor.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons has been fined 20,000 dollars and given a flagrant foul 1 for "making contact to the groin" of Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Simmons got tangled with Lowry while fighting for a rebound.

The play occurred as Lowry blocked out Simmons under Philadelphia's basket on a missed shot in the first half.

No foul was called on the play, referees missing the contact. Following Thursday's game, Lowry mentioned to the media that Simmons came to him at halftime to apologize.

After the game, Lowry told ESPN that he received an apology from Simmons at halftime. "Said he didn't mean to". Scott didn't call it on the floor. It's not like I'm going to dwell on it or bitch about it.

The win gave the 76ers a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
