Flustered Prince Harry thanks the horses after announcing birth of his son

The baby is a dual citizen, having automatically acquired USA citizenship, via Meghan, at birth.

Some of Meghan's costars from Suits shared their excitement about Baby Sussex, including Patrick J. Adams, who is hopeful for a royal play date, and Sarah Rafferty, who attended Meghan's NY baby shower.

He added: "It's been the most fantastic experience I could have possibly imagined", before adding "how any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension".

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said only that such details should be revealed when the birth is officially registered, most likely later this week.

The Queen and Philip, grandfather the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are all said to be delighted with the news.

After the new family have had time to adjust they will show their Royal baby to the world.

Harry was at his wife's side during the birth and was clearly moved by the experience. "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension".

"This little thing is absolutely to die for".

"I just don't believe that Harry is going to expect his children to join the working Royal Family like he has to do", Berthelsen said. Sharing the same picture of London's Tower Bridge as before, Pierce congratulated the Royal pair on their baby boy, and tweeted a "God Bless".

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury who married the couple last May, shared his joy on social media. "We all wish them well during this happy occasion".

Although the couple received congratulations from former USA first lady Michelle Obama, the White House remained silent, sparking speculation that Trump was still smarting over not being invited to the wedding.

Celebrities and world leaders were among those to send messages, a reflection of the star status of Harry, 34, and former USA actress Meghan, 37.

The new parents have made it clear they want to keep the birth and their new son as private as possible, but Prince Harry has promised the public will get a chance to see the baby very soon.

The Sun, a competing tabloid, said Meghan ended up being secretly rushed to a £15,000-a-night ($20,000, 17,500-euro) London hospital before giving birth "at exactly sunrise".

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan wave from the Ascot Landau Carriage. "For us we'll be seeing you guys in probably two days time as planned".

The duke is due to travel to the Netherlands on Thursday for the launch of the 2020 Invictus Games in The Hague.

Choosing Spencer as a first or middle name is seen as a way for Harry to honor Diana, who died in a Paris vehicle crash in 1997 when he was only 12.

The news has also prompted think pieces about the symbolism of the newest royal baby being from a multi-ethnic background.

"We're absolutely thrilled & look forward to seeing them in the next few days".

Names including Arthur, James and Albert are now hotly tipped by British bookmakers to be chosen by the couple.

Meanwhile, Fox News featured a column from statistician who explained why, based on maths, she already "knew" weeks ago that the couple would have a boy.

"I slept out four days", John Loughrey, a self-proclaimed royal super fan told AFP outside Windsor Castle, where the couple Wednesday past year.

She has been hailed as a breath of fresh air in a stuffy institution.

How she intends to bring up the baby will only increase the scrutiny.
